Me: Sawyer, your crayons are over there, by the stairs. Over there!
Mom: It's VERY distracting when you talk to your kids when we're on the phone.
Me: Sorry. I can't ignore them when they're asking me something. It's kind of my job.
Mom: Well, it's VERY. RUDE. R-U-D-E.
Me: Yeah, well, my priority is my kids. Maybe we shouldn't talk now then.
Mom: That's right. Bye-bye.
Click.

I guess I should be very grateful that my mom is so patient... I am constantly interrupting our phone conversations to talk to the girls!
Glad I'm not the only one! I think I need to use the "mute" button when I talk to her - if she ever speaks to me again! ;)
Seriously ... wow, I can't remember my last completely childless phone conversation. Sorry that she isn't understanding, I think sometimes mom forgot what being a mom to young ones entails ...
((Hugs))
I can't remember the last time I had a conversation with my HUSBAND without the kids interrupting!
EEK! I get interrupted every time I'm on the phone—even when it's customers. Thankfully, most of the time they're moms too!
It's just part of having young kids. You mom should remember those days
Um, my kids only talk to me when I'm on the phone. All my friends kids do it too. I had no idea that people didn't get that little kids bug you when you're on the phone and it's sort of out of your control.
Imagine if she knew I was also playing scrabulous while talking to her? That would've REALLY sent her over the edge! LOL
Yep - she's apparently forgotten that kids don't wait for you to get off the phone. And Scrabulous on top of that? That's so R-U-D-E! :-) (Prior to discovering Scrabulous, I'd play spider solitaire whenever talking to my mom, always amidst constant interruptions from the kids!!!)
Leslie - OMG! I totally play spider solitaire too!!
Argh! Cheryl's mom strikes again. Maybe you should just be Facebook friends... :)
